About Me

My name is Christal, and I'm a freelance designer. I took graphic design at St. Lawrence College in Kingston, Ontario for 2 years, then moved to Abbotsford, British Columbia where I currently live and work. I love designing, and I'm open to any type of project. I work fast, and I'm highly skilled. I have just recently taught myself how to create websites, and I'm really enjoying it.

I became interested in graphic design when I was in highschool. I took a communications class because a friend of mine said it was fun, and from that point on I have loved it. After taking that class, I decided to join another that helped make the school yearbook.

Since highschool I have learned many things, and taught myself new things. Some of the skills consist of:

• Photoshop
• Indesign
• Illustrator
• Hand coding html,CSS and some PHP(I don't use Dreamweaver)
• Photo restorations in Photoshop
• T-shirt designs
• Event programs
• Business cards

Like I have said, I'm always open to new projects that I have never attempted before. That is how I got into website design. I had a neighbour ask me if I made websites, and I said that I didn't, but have always wanted to learn how. I taught myself with the assistance of some friends and online tutorials.

When I'm designing, I like to have contact with my clients for input and approval. I like to make sure that my clients are completely satisfied with the work I have done for them. If they are not, I will encourage them to explain to me what it is that they are not happy with. I appreciate constructive criticism, as it helps make sure the clients get the best products they can.
